Celebrating our release into iTunes, Dan and Andrew stay with the darker cocktails with the classic Manhattan Cocktail, discuss how they use Rye or Bourbon, that America has caught up to the snobby scotch drinkers and why weeding out people that talk in circles with 'abstract nothingisms' is a good thing.
The Manhattan Cocktail
- Two ounce Rye Whiskey or Bourbon
- One ounce of Sweet Vermouth
- 2-3 dashes of Angostura Bitters
Stir all base ingredients (Rye, Vermouth and Bitters) with ice in mixing vessel. Strain the mixed base ingredients into the rocks glass.
Optional: Express a lemon peel over the glass and dump the lemon peel into the drink or discard. Classic books reference using a small dash of Absinthe and small amount of Maraschino as well.
Dan's SWK House Cover Build:
- Two ounces Buffalo Trace Bourbon
- One ounce Cherry Herring
- Two dashes Angostura Bitters
Stir with ice in a beaker and strain / serve either up or on the rocks and garnish with a Luxardo cherry.
Thank you for tuning in!
